In 1977, Junkers started producing heating equipments, in the Bongás facilities in Aveiro. Later, in 1983, the Vulcano brand was introduced in the Portuguese market.

The ABS was launched by Bosch in the market in 1978. This was the first digital electronic system installed in a motor vehicle. It prevents car wheels from locking when the brakes are applied, thus shortening braking distance and helping
to keep the vehicle stable.

In 1979, Bosch started the series production of Motronic. This system combined for the first time digital control of gasoline injection and ignition. Since then, the engines became more reliable, economic and eco-friendly.
